Windervale is built around people, their work and the things they choose to share. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we handle it.

INFORMATION YOU
CHOOSE TO GIVE US.
When you use Windervale, you may choose to provide information such as your name, email address, city or location, creative field, portfolio links and information about your creative practice.
If you join a Windervale waitlist or submit an application for the Indie Creative Festival, we may also collect the information you provide through those forms, including your responses, contact information and application details.
ONLY WHAT WE
NEED TO BUILD THIS.
We use information you provide to operate Windervale and its features.
- To manage waitlists and communicate with people who have joined them.
- To review and manage festival, exhibition and other applications.
- To operate accounts, profiles and community features.
- To communicate important information about Windervale, its events and updates.
- To improve the website and understand how its features are being used.
PEOPLE FIRST.
ALWAYS.
Windervale's Human Mapping feature is designed to help people discover meaningful connections across creative fields.
Profiles submitted for Human Mapping may be reviewed before becoming publicly visible. Information displayed through the feature is limited to what is intended to form part of a user's approved profile.
We do not intend for private contact information such as email addresses to be publicly displayed simply because someone participates in Human Mapping.
WHERE YOUR
INFORMATION LIVES.
Windervale uses third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate parts of the website and store information submitted through it. This currently includes Supabase.
We take reasonable measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary for the feature being provided and to protect it appropriately.
YOUR DATA IS
NOT A PRODUCT.
Information submitted to Windervale may be accessible to the Windervale team where necessary to operate the platform, review applications, moderate content or communicate with users.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may use third-party service providers where necessary to operate Windervale. Those providers may process information on our behalf as part of providing their services.
YOU DECIDE
WHAT YOU SHARE.
Some Windervale features may involve information being displayed publicly, such as an approved creative profile, project information or other material you intentionally submit for publication.
Please do not submit information to a public profile or public-facing feature that you do not want other people to see.
APPLICATIONS
STAY APPLICATIONS.
Information submitted through festival waitlists and exhibition applications is used to manage the relevant festival process.
Exhibition applications may be reviewed by the Windervale team for selection, planning, communication and logistical purposes.
Submission of an application does not mean that the information will be published publicly or that participation will be guaranteed.
WE'LL CONTACT YOU
WHEN IT MAKES SENSE.
If you provide your email address through a Windervale form, we may use it to respond to your submission or send relevant information about the feature, event or programme you signed up for.
We do not want to fill your inbox with irrelevant messages.
NO SECRET
SURVEILLANCE.
Windervale may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the website to function.
If we introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies, this policy and our Cookie Policy may be updated to explain their use.
YOU CAN
ASK QUESTIONS.
You may contact Windervale if you want to ask about information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion of information where appropriate.
Some information may need to be retained where required for legitimate operational, legal or security purposes.
